Van Halen was a 1980s glam metal group. They had one of the best guitarists named Eddie Van Halen and an energetic, charismatic vocalist named David Lee Roth. David Lee Roth was replaced by Sammy Hagar in 1984.

A couple of my favorite albums with Van Halen were the classic albums they made with David Lee Roth such as their first album and 1984 but another one of my favorite albums is For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge that they made with Sammy Hagar. Lots of people look down on Sammy Hagar for not being as fun as David Lee Roth. As far as vocals go, though, Sammy Hagar was pretty good.

Poundcake is one of my favorite songs from the album and one of my favorite songs by Van Halen. The guitar is frenetic, the vocals are energetic, the bass has a heavy thump, the drums have a heavy beat and the music video for Poundcake looks cool, too, combining Van Halen playing the song with some sexy footage of women in a dressing room, my personal favorite one being the biker chick of course. You were always guaranteed to have a good time with Van Halen with great guitar and fun songs as displayed in this video.
