Bachman Turner Overdrive is an ironic music group because they’re from Canada but many people consider them southern rock. That idea will probably make you say… aye. “snare drum” Maybe their southern rock is from southern Canada.

Another interesting thing is that they are probably the ultimate music group for truckers to listen to with their truck theme during the 1970s. Songs like Let It Ride and Roll On Down the Highway with gruff vocals, occasionally some strong guitar work and themes about movement, similar to REO Speedwagon, make for great trucker anthems, which I appreciate since I drive a pick up truck and have done a good deal of blue collar work myself.

Bachman Turner Overdrive has a nice, down to earth feel and never gets too pretentious. They’re a fun group that the common person can enjoy, and Roll On Down the Highway is a great example of how Bachman Turner Overdrive could really rock.
