Van Halen was a glam metal group during the 1980s with a great vocalist named David Lee Roth and great guitarist named Eddie Van Halen. Van Halen is my favorite music group ever for many reasons. However, my main reasons are that they have great songs, a great guitarist, a great vocalist and a great rhythm section, pretty much everything you need for a great music group.

Most of Van Halen’s albums are great and even the weakest albums by them such as the much maligned Van Halen III still have several good songs on them, which is impressive and done by few other music groups except for the big ones like Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. Their vocalist is the very prideful David Lee Roth because he is entertaining, engaging and energetic on stage. Their guitarist is one of the best guitarists, Eddie Van Halen, who I would put in the same league as a select few of guitarists, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Paige. Their rhythm section while frequently over looked was also great. Alex Van Halen did a great job on the drums and Michael Anthony is my personal favorite bass player ever. A large reason I listen to Chickenfoot is because of Michael Anthony, the bass player. Not to mention they also had some great music videos for songs such as Panama, Poundcake and the classic music video for Hot For Teacher.

Van Halen in my mind is still the best and while a few other music groups have come close to replacing them at the top in my mind such as Def Leppard and Ozzy Osbourne, no other music group has actually been able to do it because they all lack in an area that Van Halen meets well.
