Moses asked for the pharoah to let his people go numerous times but the pharoah refused each time. During this time God struck plagues against Egypt such as blood in the Nile River, frogs, gnats, flies, death of livestock, boils, hail, locusts and darkness. The pharoah’s magicians were able to copy the first couple of plagues, but they eventually were unable to replicate what God was doing. The plagues hit Egypt hard each time, but not a single time would pharoah give in. The time that Moses went to pharoah after the plague of darkness pharoah told Moses never to show himself to the pharoah ever again and Moses relented that they would not see each other again, but the worst was yet to come for Egypt because they still had not let Moses’ people go.
