I begin one of the most popular books of the Bible called Judges. Israel finishes their conquest of the promised land, Joshua dies and for a time Israel lives quite well. However, they eventually rebel against God because they do not think they need him anymore and they lose the blessing of God that made them powerful in the first place. They are taken over by another group of people and saved by a couple of Judges, one of which is Ehud with a double edged sword, and another judge is a woman with a tent peg. Judges is a very violent book of the Bible with a lot of killing like there was in Joshua, but unlike in Joshua Judges focuses on individual people instead of a group of people, which makes it easier to connect with.
