Today I cover in one day the entire book of Ruth. Naomi and her two daughters in law named Ruth and Orpah, not to be confused with Oprah, were left alone after all three of their husbands keeled over. Naomi told her two daughters in law to leave her and Orpah left reluctantly, but Ruth refused to go, so she stayed with Naomi. Ruth gleaned or got food from a field one day that belonged to a man named Boaz. After Boaz showed Ruth kindness by letting Ruth glean in his field, they got married and Boaz inherited the land of Naomi’s dead husband and Ruth’s father in law. Ruth is definitely the shortest book of the Bible I have read yet, but is probably longer than the letters of John will be when I reach the New Testament.
